Want to raise funds? Use Facebook!

Today, if you want to raise funds for your business, or for you ONG, you do not need any more to organize luxuous reunions with prestigious guests and champagne, and you do not need any more to hire an expensive fund raiser. All you have to do is to take your computer, go on the famous social network Facebook, and to download the killer application “Causes”.

“Causes” has been created by independant developpers few months ago, and has already became one of the most used application of Facebook (17 millions active user, something huge!). The idea? A system that allow you to create a page for a cause (anyone) you want to defend, and then to invite your friends to defend it with you. Thus, today, the Facebook main causes are “The support for breast cancer research”, “the support for saving Darfour”, or ” the support for stoping global warming”. Obviously, you can create a page for a less dramatic and funniest cause than those one, as did someones with the cause “save water, drink beer!”.

And if you manage to convince enouth people, you can start to ask for some donation. Of course, you will not become billionaire instantly, but with an avarage of 0,1 dollar per member of cause, you can raise good funds if you are convincing!
